EP 129: New Moon in Aries

This is the week our astrological New Year starts to get going. The zodiacal year technically begins at the Spring Equinox, but we don’t really feel that Aries style “get up and go” until the New Moon in Aries occurs.

Not only will the New Moon in Aries on Friday inspire action, as it generally does, but it’s loaded up with energy from neighboring Chiron and Mercury. Chiron in Aries encourages you to do the work to make peace with who you are, it asks you to embody your worthiness. No small feat! This is a process that may last a lifetime, but this week you could make some real headway.

On the other hand, Mercury in Aries is moving fast. As fast as Mercury can go, in fact. Your brain might be going a mile a minute and your mouth is keeping up, unfortunately, the filter between the two might be out of service.

Give yourself space for the pause, the deep breath, because once you do something impulsive or destructive, you won’t be able to take it back.

Ask Will Smith about that… Mercury had just entered Aries the day of the Oscars. You can’t make this stuff up.

The New Moon in Aries asks you to be brave and courageous. Aries is the sign of the pioneer who takes the risk to discover something new.

What adventure or challenge are you preparing to take on right now? What will be your heroine’s journey?

This New Moon gives you the support you need to get off on the right foot in the right direction. You might not know how it will all work out, but you don’t need to. You just need to know that you’re honoring your deepest desire.

Not only does this week begin a new moon cycle, but also a new 2-year cycle for Mars and Saturn. When these two planets get together they create productive action.

Be discerning and clear about where you want to put your energy and hard work over the next 30 days and over the next two years.

There is no room this week for people-pleasing or self-doubt. The Aries motto is, “ask for forgiveness, not permission.”
