EP 102: New Moon in Leo
This whole week is a lead up to the New Moon reset we all desperately need. The past few weeks have been contemptuous. Everyone has been itching for a fight.
This week begins with planetary oppositions in the sky, meaning two planets are 180 degrees away from one another. That can lead to further polarization, but the most elevated expression of an opposition is the ability to walk to the center, meet the other person in the middle, and make a compromise.
The Sun, in his home sign of Leo, where he wears the crown, will oppose Saturn in Aquarius on Monday. This comes shortly after Mercury opposes Saturn, the planet of rules, regulations, and keeping track of time. If you’ve been slacking off you might see the consequences of your actions, or inactions, this week.
Saturn always gives you a second chance though, because he’s the school teacher trying to teach you a lesson. He won’t give up on you, but he can make things uncomfortable.
On Tuesday Mercury, the messenger, squares Uranus, the agent of change, and delivers the news on how things will be changing up around here. You may have heard NYC is now requiring proof of vaccination to enter restaurants and “hot vax summer” has been replaced by “hot mask summer.”
In your personal life you may be gaining some more clarity on what changes you need to make and how you want to finish out your 2021. I know it seems premature, but with Virgo season a few weeks away, we can’t help but start to think about back to school/work, holidays, and fuzzy sweaters. Ok, Ok, I’ll stop…
The best part of this week comes at the end. When the Sun squares Uranus on Friday, expect the unexpected, maybe even expect to change your mind! Uranus teaches us that nothing is constant, but change. Allow yourself to embrace the shifts, pivots, and turns that life inevitably puts in your path.
It’s a New Moon week, which means it’s that time of the month to turn inward, to reflect, and to turn up the volume on your inner voice. The New Moon in Leo on Sunday maintains that square to Uranus, the change maker, it’s time to choose the changes that you want to make in your relationships, your work, and your playtime.
Yes - playtime! Leo rules your inner child, you need to tend to that part of yourself if you’re going to be truly happy.
What brings you the most joy? Where do you feel permission to shine as your brightest, most authentic self? How can you honor the deepest desires in your heart?
Those are your priorities for this Leo lunar cycle.
