EP 106: Time to process + Venus enters Scorpio
This week the planets are actually quiet! I think that is the first time I’m saying that since I started the Essential Astrocast in 2019. The week kicked off with the New Moon in Virgo in a harmonious trine to Uranus, the change maker.
Uranus has been causing a lot of fuss lately, but this New Moon chart indicates it’s time to embrace the changes underfoot. That doesn’t mean that you accept injustice, mistreatment, or abuse. It means you recognize it’s there and you make a plan to be a part of dismantling it.
We saw women’s rights attacked both in the USA and abroad over the past few weeks. It’s not surprising since we’ve been working with a T-square that involved fierce feminine energy of Venus opposite Eris and both of them squaring the Lord of secrets and underhanded power grabs - Pluto.
It’s easy to feel hopeless, but the New Moon in strategic, detailed, and persistent Virgo says don’t give up, get a plan. As we near the last quarter of the year, we’ll start to see more and more plans coming into place.
We’re in a tender time in which there is so much grieving and loss on both the individual and collective levels. Not only are we 18 months into living with a pandemic, but we’re processing our involvement in the humanitarian crisis enveloping Afghanistan, and we’re commemorating the 20th anniversary of 9/11 this weekend.
It’s almost like the planets knew we needed a break this week and they’re giving it to us. The only major movement in the sky (other than on Monday’s New Moon) was Mercury opposite Chiron, which might make you feel bad for hurting someone’s feelings or give you space to talk through some of your hurt feelings.
Then of course Venus moves into the sexy sign of Scorpio Friday night which can spice up your time in the boudoir, or can help you finally address some of that grief and loss you’ve been stuffing deep down into the darkest corners of your heart.
Here’s the takeaway - if you feel the feels this week, it’s because you’re finally getting a little distance from the subject of your heartbreak. It’s healthy. This is how processing works, we survive first, then we unpack the emotional residue second.
Be tender with yourself and with everyone else around you.
