EP 105: Virgo Season + Pluto/Eris Square
This week Mercury moves into Libra, the sign of the peacemaker. Win-win negotiations are finally possible again.
You might have some confusion about what you want though, because Mars opposes Neptune, the ruler of fog, on Thursday. This transit could make you feel frustrated, disappointed in your current circumstances, overwhelmed, or just flat out emotionally exhausted by the state of the world. I’m with you.
When you’re feeling helpless, especially during Virgo season, it’s an invitation to help someone else. Do what you can, whether it’s offering a compliment to your neighbor or donating to Women for Women International. I just signed up to be a monthly donor to support our fellow women in Afghanistan over the coming months and years.
The weekend will bring more intensity as Venus squares Pluto, you might become obsessive about something or someone. If you’re experiencing financial stress that might feel more potent as well.
The good news is that astrological transits pass, just like the weather. If you feel overcome by emotion, know that you can go to sleep and start again tomorrow.
Luckily, there is a stabilizing Mercury trine Saturn transit to help us make a to-do list and put some structures in place to support all the ideas swirling in your mind.
Speaking of your mind, without a clear mind you can’t execute on all those grand ideas. In this week’s episode of the Essential Astrocast I share this quote that really sums up the essence of Virgo season for me:
“If we want to save the world, we need a plan. But no plan will work unless we meditate.”
- Dalai Lama
On Monday, September 6th the New Moon in Virgo will trine Uranus, along with harmonious aspects from Venus, Jupiter, Mars, and Pluto you’ve got all the planets at your back, pushing you from behind, letting you know it’s OK to embrace the changes underfoot. There’s not a better New Moon with which to commit to your self-care routine.
Virgo is often associated with the Hermit, but that isn’t because he turns his attention away from the world. It’s because when you turn inward to get quiet, to be in stillness, to meditate, you’re able to think clearly and thus truly be of service to others.
